Contrasting himself with his peculiar albeit compelling expression of design, Olivier Rousteing once again stunned the designer world with his glamorous fall line. His models walked down the runaway projecting his eccentric affinities toward aesthetic, cultural, ethnic and political diversity. After the recent menswear show in January that seemed to have been inspired by the rock and metal themes, the 2017 fall line was probably the most badass fashion stuns the contemporary couture world ever saw.

One might even say the killer “Balmain Army” conquered the fall fashion during the Paris fashion week.

Models walked in…

…a high-octane collection with a compelling smoky eyes and braided ponytails down their backs. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux said to have gone ahead and skipped the mascara to create that black metallic eye look. A black pencil, black gel liner, black eye shadow and two metallic pigments with concealer, contouring powder, brow liner and highlighter seem to have helped whip up that daring Balmain gaze.

Another stun of Rousteing, the lip ring was a major hit in the fall line. The models strode on the runaway with faux metal lip rings supposedly inspired by one of Olivier’s muses, Kim Kardashian according to many.

The hairdo

Each girl had a few braids of hair running down her back from the centre of her head like a Mohawk. Surprisingly enough, Sam McKnight, the official hairstylist used a basic root touch-up spray and a powder-like formula. This said to have sprayed on to a brush which ended up along the braid for a matte finish.

Who wore what?

The girls dressed in black tulle column dress with metallic plaques gleamed on the panels of caramel suede. This powerfully reflected Olivier’s almost maximalist and extremist approach he is famed for. With a killer but daring feline ambiance, these pieces were truly the best of Olivier’s craftsmanship. This themed paralleled with fringed skirts, prints of wolves, fur jackets and even crocodile, cow and even zebra prints!

Supermodels such as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid walked the show. Jourdan Dunn, Sara Sampaio, Dilone and Lily Donaldson were also in the line-up.
