How often do you have to wash your hair?

If feels like the go-to internet response to “how often should you wash your hair?” is that washing hair everyday results in an irritated scalp and dried-out hair. But as someone who washes her hair everyday, I’d like to say my hair is not dried out or I don’t have an irritated scalp. But I found out the moisture of the hair retains according the shampoo and the conditioner you are using.

Also, recently New York Times article warned us that rise in the use of dry shampoo and the desire to extend the life of blow-dried or ironed hair means that actually women might not be washing their hair enough.

What do the experts have to say about it?

The pro catwalk hairstylist, Anthony Turner says “it varies so much – it all depends so much on hair type”. We thought the question should be swapped with “ how often do people wash their hair”.

I know a several people including myself who wash their hair every day. Plus as someone with OCD I need my hair to be clean every morning before I head off to work. On top of that, my hair gets greasy super easy –I’m thinking it is probably because of my deep conditioning shampoo and conditioner. A quick tip though, if you are planning to go from not washing your hair every day to washing it every morning, you might want to swap your hair products to a much more conditioning ones.

If you have what you consider super tangly and super dry hair we suggest that you wash your hair one in every four days. Wash your hair in the evening and let it dry on your pillow. It will come of wavy and pretty.

Washing hair every seven to ten days

Beautiful afro hair –super jealous already –since your hair could be thick and coily we suggest you to use a homemade pack with honey, olive oil, carrot oil and some cinnamon powder. Begin the rinsing at around 7pm and dry it with a cotton T-shirt.
