How would you describe this look?

I love this look so much because in spite of the fact that it has a lot of elements it’s still soft and subtle. The purple highlights give a perfect dynamic to the hair creating movement and depth.

The haircut is pretty much a straight base to keep the length and I added some layers for movement

For the styling I chose to do some effortless waves, leaving the ends straight for a more natural look and braided the hair to show off her facial features.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This look can be flattering for different types of hair. Also, it isn’t a time-consuming hairstyle, and you can straighten it, curl it, or even leave it natural.

The purple highlight adds a lovely allure, and it’s not very bold so anyone can wear it easily.

And I also recommend products specially created for dyed hair to prevent color fading, and heat-protecting, if you are using curling iron, straightener, or even the blowdryer.

How would you describe this look?

I feel like this overall look is very soft and romantic. Her base color is so rich and I love the subtle pops of brightness. We chose long layers for her cut and I’m so happy we did! This cut looks great straight and curled. I just love the way her soft curls fell so perfectly.

Any advice for someone considering it?

This is one of my favorite looks for clients who want to add a little brightness while keeping it low maintenance. It’s an easy cut to style, works with almost every face shape, and can be customized with face-framing to accentuate your best facial features. She will have a beautiful grow out and can go around 12 weeks in between appointments!

How would you describe this look?

This look is a natural, subtle, and low maintenance way to add some brightness to brunette thinking of going blonde.

I think it’s a great, gradual way to add some brightness for the client to test out to see if they’d want to be brighter. I always remind my client that we can always add more.

Any advice for someone considering it?

I would definitely recommend this look to all of my darker and deeper haired clients looking for a subtle change without dramatically altering the state of their hair. Going blonde can totally change the texture of your hair, and if someone isn’t sure, I would definitely recommend going this route!

Personally, color like this is pretty low maintenance. On average my clients with color like this don’t need a touch up for about 10-12 weeks (using recommended products for upkeep), so if you’re on a budget this is a great way to add some dimension without spending a ton of $$$.

Products are key to maintaining your look. If we just spent over 2 hours creating this look that the client had asked for, it’s best for them to be able to recreate the same look at home as they are truly your walking billboard. As hard as it can be for clients to want to spend, it’s important to educate them on the upkeep and maintenance that goes into having the hair they desire.

Light Chocolate Brown Hair with Silver Highlights

How would you describe this look?

This hairstyle is very simple. Half of the hair is natural brown, a number 5. I used the top section, side sections, and back (temporal bone) for highlights with 40 developer.

After lifting the hair, I used toner 8SM by Kenra Guy Tang for 10 minutes, washed twice with Fanola purple shampoo, and then styled with Moroccan oil serum.

Any advice for someone considering it?

As a hairstylist, I think it is better to have at least a little bit of your natural hair color when you mix with highlights. Styling with waves or straightened will make your hair look more natural.
