Blasting your hair dry with a hairdryer is the last thing you would feel like doing when the sun is shining and you are eager to go outdoors. Although leaving your hair to dry naturally saves time, energy, hair damage and even money, how do you make sure your air-dry looks as good as a pro blow-dry rather than a mere disheveled mess!
Can we actually leave the house with a damp hair without somehow being that person on the bus with the wet path on the back of their top?
Length of your Hair
If you are a true anti-heat stylist always adapt haircuts to suit the weather. If it is warm and crispy outside, you can simply go out to dry your hair and you know there is nothing like exposing your skin and soaking up some of the good warm sunlight.
If your hair is longer, it is less likely that it would spring up to a frizz as the length weighs your hair down.
Is towel-drying really effective?
Predictably, towel-drying the hair is the first step once you get out of the shower and although it may sounds obvious, taking a couple of minutes to do it properly will be worth your while in the long run.
Try to get the water out as much as you can from the towel drying. This will add more body. However, keep in mind rigorous towel-drying tends to make the hair a bit knotty. If that’s the case, comb lightly through your hair if necessary. But then don’t comb again if you are trying to work with your natural texture.
Putting on Styling Products
Most hairs have a natural wave, if you want you can use a leave-on conditioner or a cream. Lot of products could be heat-activated. So if your hair is fine or straight skip on the styling products. Put on a little oil on the dry tips of the hair to make it look nourished and healthy.
