Try out the glitter bug
The glittery eyelids were a huge hit on the Topshop, Undercover and Stella. The stick-on gems, jewels and the rhinestones stole the show at Dries Van Noten, Jeremy Scott and even in Givenchy. There were even glittery lips at Shrimps.
At Versace runaway the supermodel skin were the inspiration behind the models’ glowing complexions. And the all-time supermodels Naomi Campbell, Claudia, Cindy Crawford were the muses for the skin complexions. The flawless skin was on the show at Isabel Marant, Bottega Veneta and Altuzarra. Alex Box created the “baby skin” effect with a purplish primer blended around the eyes.
The Short Cuts
From the pixie-cut wigs at Moschino and Giorgio Armani to the faux crops created with some clever clipping and pinning by Orlando Pita at Tom Ford. The short styles were more popular on the catwalk than ever.
The Modern Cat Eye
The eyeliner flicks were considered more of an autumn/winter beauty look traditionally. But an updated version of the cat-eye was seen across the board for the spring/summer 2018 from the graphic, negative-space eyes by Lucia Pieroni at Rochas to the exaggerated petrol-blue swoops at Fendi and the reverse feline flicks at Jill Stuart.
But we saw the most innovative cat eyes at Lanvin by Karim Rahman and these were achieved by the MAC Chromacake.
The Return of the Nail Art
The nail art is in full force for the new season although hair and makeup often takes the focus in the backstage. The models wore logo manis at Helmut Lang, crystal embellishment at Philipp Plein and Naeem Khan and ombre glitter talons at Tom Ford.
The Hairclip Revival
From logo scarves wrapped around the ponytails at Lanvin to Sixties-style headbands at Miu Miu, the hair accessories were a big hit for spring/summer 2018. The prim and proper hair grips worn above the each ear in the primary-school style were the most covetable.
