Four Ways to Use Honey to Pamper your Hair and Skin
Enhance your beauty with natural ingredients; honey as your next go-to beauty product
Yes, the hype is real. Honey, with antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties and its immune boosting nutrients is basically taking over the face washes, moisturizers, hair conditioners, body scrubs, hair masks, and oh my, HAIR DYE TOO!
Not just that, including honey in your diet plan has proven to reduce weight and give your skin that natural glow the typical cosmetics wouldn’t.
Even though you might not have all the time in the world to try these ideas, oh honey, once you try you’ll find honey is the best bet for your beauty out there!
So let’s get to it and try these DIY techniques to get better hair, skin and even nails!
DIY a Lip Balm
Mix up one tablespoon of honey, three tablespoons of beeswax and three to four tablespoons of almond, jojoba or even sunflower oil. Remember though, you are putting this on your lips. Make sure you get the pure organic honey, beeswax and oils.
At Home Exfoliant with Honey
The anti-bacterial properties of honey can prevent oil build-up in your skin. Pour three tablespoons of honey into a bowl (or whatever the amount you think you need for the body scrub) and add sugar 1/3 of the amount of honey. Apply this on to your skin and rub in circular motions. Leave it for 7-10 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.
For Supple Skin; DIY Honey Moisturizer
Honey is a humectant found in nature; which basically means it naturally draws water from the surrounding and retains it. Simply add some honey to your face and/or body mask and leave it for maximum 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
Honey Balayage for you Hair
Just like lemon can lighten you hair colour, honey can basically change the shade of your hair. Since honey has uncountable shades of colour, you can go for a shade blonder with yellow-colour honey mixed with 2 tablespoons of lemon. Or, you can try going for a caramel or red-undertones with amber-colour honey mixed with cinnamon.
